Emerging Destinations
Market Report, September 2005, 1795  €

Description

About this reportTourist arrivals worldwide continues to grow at an impressive and encouraging rate, despite the current trepidation surrounding conflict or terrorist activities.
Travel appears to be becoming an essential, fundamental component of consumer lifestyles, and as a result a minor shortfall of 0.5% in 2001 has been the only negative performance in global arrivals in recent years.
According to the World Tourism Organization (WTO), between 1995 and 2002, tourist arrivals worldwide grew by approximately 27.6%.
This report aims to identify and profile those destinations where the rate of increase has been extraordinary in this period – where arrivals have doubled, trebled or even quadrupled.
Utilising the regional definitions of the WTO, Mintel provides a report with extensive variety and scope in geographic coverage of the featured countries.
These include: Bulgaria Cambodia Costa Rica Croatia Lebanon Mongolia Republic of Namibia Slovenia Tanzania Turks & Caicos Islands.
Mintel’s analysis provides travel industry professionals and investors with a unique insight into how the travel industry is developing in these countries, and the changing face of international tourism.
