So where next for EDS? Recent years have not only been about operational improvements and cost cutting – there have been significant investments as well. Some of the most prominent developments include the establishment of the Agility Alliance, the creation of ExcellerateHRO and the recent acquisition of Mphasis. Investing in the Agility Alliance is an acknowledgement that EDS’s vendor independence is not as compelling a proposition as it once may have been, and privileged access to leading technologies is something clients want their outsourcers to have. ExcellerateHRO and Mphasis represent much-needed extensions of EDS’s portfolio (services and global delivery capability) and should work to decrease the company’s dependence on traditional infrastructure deals. Therefore, when CEO Michael Jordan says he wants accelerated growth and higher margins, there are investments in place to generate these. |
