In China, the production of nitrogen fertilizer takes about 73% of gross fertilizer output, phosphate fertilizer 22% or so and, potash fertilizer about 5%.In Jan-Apr, 2007, fertilizer output amounted to 23.574 million tons, up 14.56% over the same period of 2006. The top three provinces by output are Shandong, Hubei and Henan. In 2006, China's export of fertilizer reached 2.348 million tons (a drop of 2.7% year-on-year) and valued by USD 600 million (a rise of 0.75%).
