Some observers view BearingPoint as a system integrator (SI) in turmoil. With ongoing financial woes (including failure to file timely financial reports for Wall Street regulators) and personnel changes, BearingPoint is struggling to find its footing even as global competitors such as IBM, Accenture and Capgemini experience a revenue surge. With so much speculation surrounding BearingPoint’s prospects, it may be surprising to hear that the SI – working closely with its partner SAP – is making a major investment to demonstrate leadership in service-oriented architecture (SOA) solutions, particularly in some of its core public sector verticals. With this initiative, BearingPoint wants to rebuild its reputation and be viewed as a cutting-edge SI leading the way in the creation of SOA composite applications and demonstrating how SOA can deliver real customer benefits. |
